Disclaimer: in no way can you take any of this as the “right” way of doing things. I’m still learning and some of this stuff may even be wrong. I am constantly adapting and changing my approach to drawing. This is just how I think about stuff and I wanted to share it with people. Maybe it can help, maybe not.
I just finished an anatomy drawing class and I can say, knowing this stuff makes a big difference.
Also, you're post does a great job describing how the muscles move as the leg moves. The pelvis to leg connection can be a little tricky sometimes (because it's always simplified in 'how to draw' books), thanks for taking the time to share your study and lay it out for us in detail :)
